Purpose

RCA, Inc. was established in July of 2004 for the purpose of "providing the most reliable alternatives in the community for individuals with disabilities and the elderly."  RCA is located in region 1 of the largest Region in the state of Louisiana and Region 1 has the most provider agencies.  Currently region 1 has (82) provider type - Personal Care Attendant Elderly and (82) provider type - Personal Care Attendant (MRDD).  RCA welcomes competitioin because we will provide state of the arts in home and community-based care for individuals with disabilities, regardless of the age or level of assistance required.

Recently, as of March 2007 we expanded to Region 3 due to the growing number of evacuees relocating from New Orleans to St. Charles parish and surrounding parishes.

What sets RCA apart from other providers?

We hold truth to advocacy and promoting home and commnity based waiver services by supporting advocacy and local support groups for individuals with disabilties and their families.  What sets us apart from other Direct service providers is that we not ony promote advocacy for individuals with disabilties in the work place, we hired a self-advocate who has Cerebral Palsy as a Receptionist/Community Resource Coordinator of Reliable Community Alternatives, Inc. target population is individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, functional/non-functional disabilities, and individuals with either a mild, moderate, are severe diagnosis.

It is a policy of RCA to prohibit staff from seeking to directly affect consumer behavior prior to program enrollment by means of solicitation.  All program referrals will be made based upon individual choices made by the consumer or their designated legal representative.
